The Bible says that

All men are sinners and because God is holy and just, their sins cannot be overlooked.
They are under the wrath of God, and there must be punishment.
(Romans 3:23; 6:23; 2:4,5) Man cannot save himself.
Eternal life is a free gift by God's grace, not by works or by anything that man can do. (Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5)

Yet the Bible also says

Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for your sins and arose victoriously over death and sin.
He suffered God's wrath for you and provided eternal life. (1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:8,9)
To be saved you must acknowledge that you are a sinner and put your trust in Jesus Christ
, God's Son, to save you from the penalty of sin. (Romans 10:9, 10; John 1:12; 5:24)
Having personally trusted in Christ as your Savior, you are forgiven by God, declared righteous in Christ, and are born again.
You become a child of God, but you still have a lot of growing up to do.
